He breaks down businesses into four key components: people, product, process/system and value creation.
To grow your business, one need the right people behind you, but it’s also important to consider to fit and place people in the right roles that match their skills and talents. Moreover, very few are true leaders and the key is to transform the team to leaders even at the employee level. Once you’ve assembled and transformed your team, a system needs to be in place to create an enabling environment where they are supported and set up for success.
A close examination of your product is the next element of business success. Everything is strategy so one must consider pricing, sizing, packaging, target markets, and how you will get your message out there. Remember to view your product as customers will view it, be flexible and make modifications as needed.
Process and system
Process flow solutions is one of the biggest key components in any business. In any field, improving performance, efficiency, and results are the key objectives for the business. Companies achieve this by having a shared goal that unites the interest and activities of all stakeholders within the organization. To grow a business, one must have solid processes in place to reduce waste. It is also essential to have a system in place to be organized and establish a stepwise approach in how to move forward short- and long term. This will create a vision, establish goals, make the business more efficient, guard against financial problems, and allow it to replicate the model when it’s time to scale.
Achieving high value for customers must be the overachieving goal of any business. What is value? Outcomes achieved per dollar spent. This goal unites the interests of all stakeholders: customers, employees, payers, providers, and suppliers and when this goal is achieved, the economic sustainability increases. The daily operations need to be focused on value creation and on how to increase value for every step of the business.
Dr. Mehrzad is an educational expert with numerous books published in the field of education and strategic performance. He began consulting students and schools at age 22 after his first best-selling book, Straight As – The Secret of Getting Top Grades in School.
In any field, knowing what to do, before you do it is an obvious approach. In school, however, students are thrown in a class, expected to know what to do without any previous training. Dr. Mehrzad believes any student can get successful in school by first learning HOW to study.
He states, “Being successful in school is not rocket science. It just encompasses key strategic components, similar to any field of business. In the educational field, we fail to first teach students how to succeed in school, and consequently, many will get bored, think it is hard and become unsuccessful. But the truth is that they just don’t know how to do it correctly.”
He uses a unique system to teach students study techniques, strategies within each course category, accurate planning, and how to keep them motivated when things get difficult and hard.
To date, he has consulted thousands of students and successfully helped them get accepted into highly competitive programs such as medical school, dental school, business school, law school and engineering schools, just to name a few.
Dr. Mehrzad has a strong research background with 40 peer reviewed scientific published papers and over 20 abstracts. His focus is gene therapy and currently involved in a gene therapy drug development.
